Q. How much does it cost to repair my sash windows ? It all depends on how much work is needed to each window. A standard draught proofing overhaul without replacing rotten cills etc is approx £300 plus vat. Q. How long does it take to fix my windows ? Again it depends on the work needed to each window. On average we aim to spend one day per window for draught proofing, pointing and undercoat painter work.

Q. How long is the lead time for repair work ? Due to the high demand for our services, you can expect to wait 4/5 weeks from accepting a quote to the work being carried out.

Q. I have got a quote to replace my old sash windows with new plastic ones and its cheaper? The plastic window market is cheaper than sash timber window replacements and sometimes repairs. Apart from not really looking very traditional, plastic windows can lower a house value, depending on their design and opening function. Plastic windows offer a quick fix to window problems. If you install them within conservation areas or listed buildings you are risking a window enforcement order from the local council. This will require you to remove them and fit the correct timber windows. Plastic windows have a shelf life of approx 20 years, then they can become discoloured and brittle. Wooden windows can last well over a hundred years with correct care. Also plastic windows are not the most environmentally friendly invention in the world either.

Q. What is our guarantee ? We will offer a 5 year warranty on any work carried out.

Q. Are quotations free of charge ? Yes, however if you decide not to accept our quotation, please let us know. A lot of time and effort goes into each quote. Your feedback is appreciated.

Q. Can I pay by credit card ? Yes, We accept Visa and Mastercard. We regret that we cannot accept American Express cards.

Q. Do I have to pay a deposit ? Yes, We usually take 40% and the remainder upon completion.

Q. Do you undertake insurance work ? No not really, the majority of clients want to upgrade their windows. We do not carry out emergency type repairs

Q. Will a fast talking salesman appear to try and get me to sign up at point of survey ? No, we are a family company. We will give you one price, by email or post within one week. This is the only price and will not change / discount after a few days. If you want to proceed we will then book you into the calendar.
